Giving the Vallisneria in my low tech aquarium it's quarterly haircut. I love the overgrown look but it's important to allow light down to the plants below it. In aquariums that are heavily stocked I dose liquid fertilisers that only contain potassium, iron and trace elements like @2hraquarist APT Xero. The large amount of fish and shrimp waste is already supplying the plants an abundance of nitrates and phosphates so there's no need to dose more of this unnecessarily and cause algae issues. #pl
