The team from Sioux Falls will move on in the Little League World Series after defeating the team from Washington, 9-0, on Aug. 19.

The score was 13-0 with runners on the corners and one out in the sixth when Nevada used a delayed steal to get the runner on first into scoring position. Play-by-play announcer Karl Ravech called out the questionable move.

Maxen Snoozy was brilliant once again as Sioux Falls avoided elimination Tuesday with a 9-0 win over Bonney Lake, Washington. South Dakota now advances in the loser’s bracket. They’ll play Wednesday night at 6 p.

Day 5 began with a United States bracket game between Washington (Northwest region) and Massachusetts (New England). Bonney Lake, Washington edged Braintree, Massachusetts 3-2 to keep their championship hopes alive. Elsewhere, Canada scored a blowout win in the International bracket, routing Australia 12-0 in five innings.

The 2025 Little League World Series is officially off and running. Eight teams continue their quest to win it all in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Sunday in the annual summer tournament. A new winner will be crowned in 2025, too, after last year's champion, Lake Mary, Florida, was eliminated in the regional round.

Lamar Little League product Randal Grichuk is one of eight current big leaguers who also played in the Little League World Series.
