The County of Napa declared a local emergency Sunday in response to the Pickett Fire burning in the Calistoga area. Napa County Chief Executive Officer and Director of Emergency Services Ryan Alsop signed the emergency proclamation Sunday to request additional funding for the fire.

The Pickett Fire in California's Napa County has burned 6,803 acres as of Sunday morning, making it the largest fire in the Bay Area since last year.

Fueled by hot and dry conditions, the Pickett Fire in Napa County grew over the weekend, becoming the largest in the region this year as it spurred evacuations while threatening homes and vineyards.
