The state of Minnesota is taking TikTok to court over the app's alleged violation of its consumer protection laws.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota on Tuesday joined a wave of states suing TikTok, alleging the social media giant preys on young people with addictive algorithms that trap them into becoming compulsive consumers of its short videos.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Tuesday that he is suing TikTok, alleging the social media app is “preying on Minnesota’s young people” through manipulative and deceptive practices.
