Identifying three Seattle Seahawks players on defense who need a productive joint practice versus the Green Bay Packers.

The Seahawks went on the road for joint practice against the Tennessee Titans in 2024, and they will do the same with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Aug. 21. Last season, Macdonald essentially used the joint practice as a replacement for the actual game.

The Seattle Seahawks pulled a mini-surprise during the 2025 NFL draft when they selected offensive lineman Grey Zabel with the No. 18 overall selection. It wasn't totally shocking, because the Seahawks had been connected to Zabel throughout the pre-draft process.

Fixing the offensive line was a major focus for John Schneider, Mike Macdonald and staff this offseason and they made that clear as they used the 18th overall pick to select Grey Zabel. The unit has looked much improved in the preseason as Seattle has averaged 219.

The Seahawks apparently are willing to add to the guard competition as ESPN reported that they are expected to get a visit from veteran free agent Dalton Risner.

Former second-round pick Dalton Risner is looking for a new team and he is considering a visit to the Steelers before he decides.
