While Pellum was arrested in Springfield, near the school’s campus in Eugene, on Wednesday, the alleged incident occurred in Pellum’s hometown of Long Beach, California on Christmas Day.

Pellum said his passion for film study started during his playing career in Eugene, when he had an "a-ha" moment during a game when his film study reaped its first benefit.

Pellum is home in California and said he will be attending a school in the East this fall, though he declined to identify it. “I don’t want to say right now,” Pellum said of his new school.
