Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has been appointed co-deputy director of the FBI, joining Dan Bongino in a rare power-sharing arrangement. Bailey, a staunch Trump ally, will serve alongside conservative commentator Bongino,

Bailey, a 44-year-old Army veteran from Rhineland, had never held an elected office before former Gov. Mike Parson chose him in late 2022.

Pursuant to Missouri state statute, the Governor possesses the authority to appoint Bailey’s successor, who will complete the remainder of his term. The Attorney General’s Office has coordinated with the Governor’s Office to ensure a seamless process to fill the vacancy and prepare for this transition.
