A Texas sheriff said in an update Saturday morning that at least 27 people, including nine children, have died in flooding brought on by severe rains that ransacked the Hill Country early Friday morning.

Parts of central Texas saw a month’s worth of rain in just a few hours overnight into Friday, prompting multiple flash flood emergencies. Follow for live updates on the rescue effort, including the search for more than 20 girls from a summer camp in the region.
