The Boston Celtics now officially belong to Bill Chisholm. The investor group led by the Chisholm has completed its acquisition of the majority control of the franchise, the Celtics announced Tuesday.

The Celtics officially announced the sale of the team to Bill Chisholm’s group and explained how Wyc Grousbeck fits into the new ownership structure.

The deal will close in two phases, with Chisholm’s group taking 51 percent ownership now, and the balance closing in 2028.
