Representatives from 21 members representing the Pacific Rim are meeting in Peru for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, the first global summit since U.S.

However, the APEC summit offers her the chance to play host and receive the attention of global leaders. She’s expected to meet with both US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The APEC summit is set against a tense local backdrop for Peru -- which is hosting the conference for the first time since 2016.
