Tropical storm warnings were extended up to Surf City, North Carolina, as Tropical Storm Chantal is offshore of the southeastern U.S. on Saturday.

Tropical Storm Chantal has grown slightly in strength as it nears the southeast U.S. coast. The National Hurricane Center issued warnings for parts of the Carolinas on Sunday.

The storm's center was located about 65 miles east of Charleston, South Carolina, on Saturday night, and 120 miles south of Wilmington, North Carolina.
