The husband of a missing woman who was found dead in the Angeles National Forest has fled to Peru, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Sheylla Gutierrez, 33, who was reported missing in California, was found dead in a forest on Aug. 16. Her body was found on Sunday, over the side of an embankment in Angeles National Forest.

Detectives say that the woman's husband was seen dragging a large object from their apartment complex days before her body was found over an embankment in the Angeles National Forest.
