The Minneapolis DFL’s endorsement of state Sen. Omar Fateh in the Minneapolis mayor’s race sparked numerous challenges. On Thursday, the state DFL party took the unprecedented step of revoking the local endorsement.

A Minnesota Democratic committee on Thursday revoked the party’s endorsement of mayoral candidate Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist challenging the incumbent Democratic mayor of Minneapolis.

The Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party vacated is endorsement following State Democratic Party because of a “substantial undercount” in the nominee balloting at a recent convention.
