Now, as many independent women’s sports bars strive to open, the original is ready to franchise. Following an announcement in April that a major investment in The Sports Bra from Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, founding control owner of Angel City FC, and founder of the 776 Foundation, The Sports Bra is ready to expand.

Monica Brady and Rachel Glenn are set to open up the first women's sports bar in Kansas City, The Dub, later this year.

The Northeast Portland restaurant and bar, which is dedicated to showing and promoting women's sports, is preparing to expand as interest in women's sports continues to grow.

"The Sports Bra has proven to be a lot bigger than just the four walls of our bar and restaurant. It’s found its place in a movement," owner Jenny Nguyen said.
