The dual national wase eligible for both countries although has already appeared for the USWNT in friendly action

Ajax teenager Lily Yohannes has committed to represent the U.S. women’s national team at international level. The 17-year-old midfielder was born in Springfield, Virginia, but moved to the Netherlands with her family in 2017 and was working toward eligibility to possibly represent the country as a Dutch citizen.

The 17-year-old midfielder was born in Virginia and moved to the Netherlands at age 10, giving her a choice between two women's soccer powers. She picked what she called "my homeland, my birthplace."

She also played one game for the USWNT this summer, scoring against South Korea, and will gift even more attacking talent on Emma Hayes’ team, who won Olympic gold and then saw Hayes named the first ever Ballon d’Or winner for best women’s coach.

Yohannes, who was born in the U.S. but moved to the Netherlands, has trained with both the U.S. and Dutch national teams.
