Matthew Stafford made his long-awaited return to the practice field on Monday after a back injury held him out of Rams training camp to this point.

Sean McVay says it’s “a step in the right direction” for the veteran quarterback, who missed the first four weeks of camp with an aggravated disc in his back.

After going three-plus weeks without practicing, Matthew Stafford has now been in pads and participating in practice for two consecutive days. Following his long-awaited return on Monday, Stafford is once again on the field Tuesday.
