Hawaii opened the 2025 season with a thrilling 23-20 win over Stanford on Saturday to cap off Week 0 action. Hawaii kicker Kansei Matsuzawa drilled a 38-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Rainbow Warriors their first win over a Power Four team since 2019.

Micah Alejado’s toughness and Kansei Matsuzawa’s clutch kick lifted the Rainbow Warriors past Stanford in dramatic fashion.

After getting the College Football season started in Week 0, Hawaii walked off Stanford after a back and forth game.

Among them is a matchup between Stanford in Hawaii, which will be the final game of the weekend before the page turns to Week 1 next week. This will mark the fifth all-time matchup between Stanford and Hawaii and the first since the Cardinal opened the 2023 campaign with a 37-24 win over the Rainbow Warriors.

Stanford and Hawaii will open the college football season on CBS at 7:30 p.m. ET from Honolulu, with Stanford having won all four previous meetings.
