Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has received backing from FIFA's Players' Voice Panel after being subjected to racist abuse during Friday's Premier League opener against Liverpool at Anfield.
Referee Anthony Taylor halted the first half after Semenyo was abused by supporter. The Bournemouth striker preparing to take throw in, was spat on and insulted by fan seated in the disabled section. Officials quickly intervened removing the individual from the stadium.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has condemned the racial abuse aimed at Antoine Semenyo and has offered support to the striker.
